Towel Facts……Caring for your towels

Quailty

Turkish toweling is legendary for its exceptional softness and absorbency. The quality of the Turkish cotton is one of the best in the world and will stand the test of time. It has extra long fibers. Using longer fiber cotton in spinning yarn results in fewer joins. Fewer joins results in stronger and smoother cotton threads.

The thick pile makes them exceptionally soft while an abundance of tightly wound loops offer superior warmth and absorbency.

Each piece is meticulously hand sewn and crafted to the highest standards for wash-after-wash longevity. In order to maintain the superb quality of your towels, please take special care in washing and handling.

Turkish cotton vs. Egyptian cotton

Egyptian cotton is known for its absorbency, which is especially suıted for apparel, shirting and sheets, however in towels too much absorbency means a towel is still wet the next day after it is used. Also too absorbent towels tend to become wet in humid climates all by themselves. Turkısh Cotton provides the perfect balance between absorbency and softness which makes it the best yarn to be used in towels. Turkish Cotton, when used in towels, provides maxımum absorbency and efficient drying.

Caring for your towels

Absorbency

Washing terry towels before use makes them softer and more absorbent. Towels are best washed in warm (not hot) water with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener,

since it decreases the absorbency of the towel. The ideal way to dry textiles is air only.

Washing

To keep towels soft, use only half the amount recommended on the detergent label, and never pour the detergent directly onto them. If detergent isn’t fully rinsed out after each washing, a residue can build up that wıll diminish softness.

Do not use bleach or laundry detergents that contain optical brighteners. Please wash your colored towels in a washing product that is designed for colored washes. Never pour detergent or soap directly on your towels. Either pour it in when the tub is full or dilute it. Ensure the towels do not come in contact with bathroom cleaners, harsh chemicals or skin cleaners that contain benzyl peroxide.

Pulled loops

The number of loops and their height and density influence the feel of the towel. The loops are flexible to give suppleness to the towel. As a result, loops are likely to be pulled when hooked. Take care to avoid contact with sharp objects such as rings or hooks on the washing line. Should this inadvertently happen, do not pull the thread. Just cut off the pulled loop with a pair of scissors. As all our towels are woven, a pulled loop will not unravel the towel.
